In this section, we provide a glimpse of the various types of events which have taken place at the Hungarian Community Centre of Ottawa and which greatly contributed to the preservation of the national culture and traditions of our community.

Throughout previous years, the members of the Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group, together with their family and friends, have also contributed significantly to the cultural life of their community with their activities at the Hungarian Community Centre of Ottawa, along with other members and groups of the Ottawa Hungarian Community. Besides performing at numerous events held there, the Chamber Group's members have regularly organized and presented various events for the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre. These events ranged from fund-raising, such as benefit presentations and auctions, to a variety of Hungarian cultural and national commemorative events.

Here we show some of the various types of events which the members of the Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group, with family and friends, have organized, presented, or participated in at the Hungarian Community Centre of Ottawa. Events organized by Karoly Dombi (Sr.), Secretary of the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre (1995-2002) and performances of the Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group directed by Charles Dombi.

Ezen az oldalon bemutatunk az Ottawai Magyar Házban tartott rendezvényekből néhányat, amelyek hozzájárultak közösségünk nemzeti műveltségének és hagyományainak megőrzéséhez.

Az elmúlt évek folyamán, a Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes tagjai, családjaikkal, barátjaikkal, és az ottawai magyar közösség több más tagjaival és csoportjával együtt, az Ottawai Magyar Házban tartott előadásaikkal jelentős mértékben hozzájárultak közösségünk műveltségi életéhez. Az Ottawai Magyar Ház támogatásáért, számos fellépeseik mellett, a Kamaraegyüttes tagjai rendszeresen megszerveztek és előadtak műsorokat és egyéb rendezvényeket, mint pl. alapgyűjtő előadásokat és árveréseket, valamint műveltségi, népművészeti, nemzeti hagyományőrző és megemlékezési műsorokat.

Itt egy kis ízelitőt adunk az Ottawai Magyar Házban tartott rendezvényekből, amelyeket a Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes tagjai, családjaikkal és barátjaikkal együtt, megszerveztek és előadtak, vagy amelyekben részt vettek. A rendezvényeket Dombi Károly, az Ottawai Magyar Ház Titkára (1995-2002) szervezte, és a Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes előadásait ifj. Dombi Károly rendezte.

Every March, the commemoration of the 1848-49 Hungarian War of Independence is held at the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre. The members of the Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group have on several occasions organized and participated in this yearly event.

Több alkalommal, az Ottawai Magyar Házban megemlékezést tartottunk az 1848-49-es szabadságharcról, a Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes tagjainak megszervezésében és közreműködésével.

A festive dinner was held at the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre in May 1998, in honour of the Hungarian Studies Association of Canada, on the occasion of its annual conference which was held in Ottawa. The Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group of Ottawa organized and presented a performance together with guest artists for the occasion. The members of the Hungarian Studies Association of Canada conduct multidisciplinary academic research in order to increase public awareness of Hungarian culture through yearly conferences and research publications.

Ünnepi vacsorát tartottunk az Ottawai Magyar Házban a Kanadai Magyarságtudományi Társaság tiszteletére, az 1998 májusi évi értekezlete alkalmával. Az ottawai Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes egy néptáncos és zenés műsort rendezett és mutatott be vendégszereplőkkel együtt. A Kanadai Magyarságkutató Társaság tagjai évente tartanak tudományos értekezletet, amelyeken előadásokban és kiadványokban ismertetik a magyarsággal kapcsolatos tanulmányaikat.

Members of the Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group have organized and held commemorative gatherings at the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre (June 4, 2000, and June 3, 2001) on the 80th and 81st anniversaries of the treaty of Trianon, an extremely harsh and unjust treaty which was imposed upon Hungary after the First World War, as a result of which Hungary lost nearly three quarters of its territory, forcing millions of Hungarians to live under the oppression of the neighbouring states which have occupied and annexed Hungarian territories. Another commemorative event was organized by the World Federation of Hungarians in June 2007.

A Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes tagjainak rendezésében 2000 Június 4.-én, valamint 2001-ben tartottak megemlékezést az Ottawai Magyar Házban a trianoni országcsonkítás 80., ill. 81. évfordulója alkalmával.

2007-ben a Magyarok Világszövetségének szervezésében tartottak megemlékezést.

On several occasions, the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre held a Hungarian Festival. The Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group of Ottawa also participated with Hungarian folkdance performances and folk arts and crafts diplays.

Több alkalommal az Ottawai Magyar Ház magyar ünnepséget rendezett, amelyek keretén belül az ottawai Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes néptánc előadásokkal és népművészeti kiállitással vett részt.

Every Fall, the traditional Hungarian Harvest Ball is held at the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre. The Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group performed on several occasions.

Minden őszkor az Ottawai Magyar Házban tartják a hagyományos magyar szüreti ünnepséget. A Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes többször fellépett.

Every October, the commemoration of the 1956 Hungarian National Uprising against the Soviet communist occupation and dictatorship is held at the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre. The members of the Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group have organized and participated in this yearly event on a number of occasions.

Minden októberben az Ottawai Magyar Házban megemlékezést tartunk az 1956-os szabadságharcról, a Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes tagjainak többszörös megszervezésében és közremüködésével.

A festive dinner was held at the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre in October 1999, in honour of the Hungarian Prime Minister, Mr. Viktor Orbán, on the occasion of his official Canadian visit.

Transylvanian Hungarian performers have entertained the local Hungarian community with a variety show of folk songs, music, dance and comedy on various occasions.

Kolozsvári és Marosvásárhelyi művészek közös fellépése zenés, táncos, énekes és mulatságos műsor előadásával szórakoztatta a helybeli magyar közösséget több alkalommal.

On several occasions during the past years, the members of the Hungarian Folkdance Chamber Group of Ottawa have held the traditional Hungarian St.Nicholas day celebrations of December 6th at the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre, entertaining the children and their parents with stories, plays and presents associated with the year-end festive season.

Több alkalommal az elmult évek folyamán a Magyar Néptánc Kamaraegyüttes tagjai rendezték a december 6.-i hagyományos magyar Mikulás ünnepet, mesékkel, színjátékokkal és ajándék kiosztással az Ottawai Magyar Házban.
